Positive Change For Children & The Homeless

Standing Up for Struggling Families
Positive Change For The Homeless is moving our country closer to the day when everyone has the food they need. We do this by fighting hunger through innovative initiatives that allow us to feed, nourish, empower, unite and connect with communities in need. Through it all, we keep the people we serve at the center of our work. Over half a million Americans go homeless on a single night in the United States. About 35 percent (just under 200,000) are found sleeping unsheltered on our streets in places not intended for human habitation, such as sidewalks, parks, cars, or abandoned buildings. Meanwhile, over 350,000 sheltered homeless people are found in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs. Homelessness almost always involves people facing desperate situations and extreme hardship. A key quote underscores that the coronavirus is circulating undetected in communities: ‘The coronavirus has been circulating undetected and has possibly infected scores of people over the past six weeks in Washington state, according to a genetic analysis of virus samples that has sobering implications for the entire country amid heightening anxiety about the likely spread of the disease.’ Donate Today
