Dr. Whitfield re-licensed and became an Ordained Baptist Minister under the care and leadership of Reverend Dr. Kelmo C. Porter and the St. Johns Baptist Church of Scotch Plains, NJ benefiting from his 50 plus years in ministry.

Reverend Whitfield was again in 2007 ordained as a Baptist minister under Reverend Kelmo C. Porter Jr. of St. Johns Baptist Church of Scotch Plains, NJ. Reverend Dr. Whitfield was the founder of the Fellowship Community Church Plainfield, New Jersey. Pastor Whitfield served in this capacity for 5 years has been an integral part of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Plainfield New Jersey area. In addition to preaching in witnessing to the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ's pastor Whitfield and the Fellowship Community Church has been effective resource in addressing the physical and social needs of the community. Consistently pastor Whitfield and the Fellowship Community Church has provided food baskets for the needy, crisis intervention services and family conflict resolution as well as grants and scholarships for deserving college students.
